VeTouch:

Description

On the first Sunday of every month, Hennepin Ave United Methodist Church hosts a feed for the low-income and no-income residents of the community. VeTouch coordinates with this event each month and provides care to the pets of those attending the feed under the guidance of licensed veterinarians and veterinary technicians. Services offered include: wellness exams, diagnosis and treatment of parasitic disease, education on zoonotic diseases, behavior education, nutritional support, and referral for more involved veterinary care.

General Information
VeTouch clinics are held on the first Sunday of every month from 3:00 – 7:00pm. We are typically able to see 30 dogs and cats from 20 families.

Pet Project Vaccination Clinic

We will be hosting a low cost vaccination clinic on Sunday, June 10th at the Hallie Q Brown in St. Paul.  We suggest a donation of $20.  This will include a rabies vaccine and distemper/combo vaccine.

All dogs must be leashed and all cats must be in a kennel.

Please join us and help keep your pets healthy.

We are also hoping to have other events that day at Hallie Q.  Please stay tuned for details.

The Pet Project is pleased to announce and support the efforts of Rescue Wire.  They’re a young non profit in the Twin Cities with many of the same goals.  More services is a really, really great thing.  This is their upcoming event:

RescueWire is proud to announce our First Annual Wellness Clinic! This event, sponsored by Metro Dogs, will feature a number of wellness opportunities for your companion animal! We will be offering the following low-cost services in one location:

*spay/neuter services from Kindest Cut

This is a FANTASTIC opportunity for anyone in need of economically priced vet services. The only service you need to prove income for is the spay/neuters provided by Kindest Cut. This means that ANYONE is eligible to receive discounted services at this event.

We are very excited to be partnering with Dr. Raeyna Longtin of True Companion Vet Van for this event. Dr. Raeyna will be the lead vet on staff, and will be signing rabies certificates.

Low Cost Vaccine and Microchipping NEC

Do you need a low-cost option for keeping your pets vaccinated? Please join us at NE Community Lutheran Church on Saturday, April 14th from 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM.

Vaccines for dogs and cats available:
Dogs: Standard distemper/parvo combo
Cats: PRC (standard)
Both: Rabies Vaccine
Suggested donation: $20

The Animal Humane Society will be onsite to do low-cost microchipping.
Cost: $20

The proceeds of this clinic benefit outreach programs at NE Community Lutheran, including the Little Kitchen Food Shelf.

Those who are able are asked to bring a donation of cat food (NEEDED URGENTLY!), dish soap, laundry soap, TOILET PAPER or canned chicken or tuna.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!!!! Vet techs, veterinarians, people who can help direct traffic and people with good handwriting to help fill out vaccine certificates.

Heartworm Testing, not free, but affordable for a good cause.

Has your dog had his/her annual heartworm test yet? It’s that time of year again! Heartworm testing and preventatives are vital to maintain your canine family member’s good health.

True Companions Vet Van is teaming up with Secondhand Hounds for this great fundraiser! Dr. Raeyna Modrow-Longtin will be providing heartworm testing at Ruff House on Wednesday evening, April 4th from 6:00-8:30 pm.

The tests are $40 each, with 50% of the price going to Secondhand Hounds! Microchips are also available for $40 each at this event. Cash or check will be accepted, no credit cards please.

Your dog’s test results will be emailed to you after the event.

Come early and stay to play at the Ruff House indoor dog park! Park fees are $5 for one dog and $8 for 2.

Pampered Pooch Dog Walk

5K9 walk/run – Saturday, April 14th

Pampered Pooch Playground is proud to have teamed up with Lululemon at the West End for their  1st annual 5k(canine) walk/run around Lake Harriet in Minneapolis.  Meet/greet/sniff starts at 11am, race will begin at 11:15am. One loop around the lake, treats and prizes awarded at the finish.

best costume
owner/dog look-a-like
